Editing Assignment #1

For this assignment I shot 200 pictures and had to pick the best 16. Most of the pictures I shot for this project were taken outside in the snow and in my dorm room. I chose to put these photos into the categories of photos about myself, and photos about other people.

Favorite Photos

Previous to taking Intermediate Photography, I took a photography class in high school, along with a basic photography and a black and white film photography class last semester. These photos were taken either during the past summer break or early into the most recent fall semester.

My Obsession

For my obsession project, I chose to photograph my chinchilla Roxie. I've had her since I was thirteen years old, therefore, I figured she was a good choice to be the focus of my project. The photographs I took of Roxie also resemble myself through the objects around her. The first three pictures were taken in my room and symbolize my love for fashion using shoeboxes, a shopping bag, and jewelry. The bottom two were taken in my basement. The one of Roxie in the game closet shows that I enjoy playing board games, and the bottom photo was taken on my brother's drum set to represent my love for music. Each of these photos were challenging to take since it was very hard to get Roxie to stay still long enough for me to get a good picture of her. Overall, I thought it was a fun project to shoot for.
